Subject: Orientation, patient examination, treatment planning and case selection

Objectives:
For each delegate to be able to:
- Be orientated in the details of the Implant Programme, ensuring they have all the relevant information and resources to commence the programme
- Meet the training team and familiarise themselves with our training facilities
- Set specific, measurable and time related objectives for the programme
- Examine, identify tools for treatment planning, devise a treatment plan and acquire consent from a live patient for treatment on Module 2

Contents:
- Programme objectives, content and learning outcomes
- Set individual personal SMART objectives
- Meet the training team and orientate yourself with our training facility
- Dental examination of your own patient, live hands on including:
- general oral exam
- current dental status
- periodontal examination
- hard and soft tissue assessment
- TMJ assessment
- Investigations to include:
- study models
- photographs
- radiographs
- possible CT scans
- Group Discussion of cases and treatment planning
- Options for individual patients with definitive treatment plans produced and consents
- Deliver treatment plan and obtain consent from your patient and set up for next stage of treatment on Module Two
- Discussion on treatment planning and case selection
- End of day debrief so all is clear going forward
- Plan the required Patients to treat for each Module
